This is the Victorinox "Soldier", and is the knife model actually used by the current Swiss army. I purchased it from a small shop in Lucerne, Switzerland last year.

The Swiss Army Knife dates back to the 1890's when Karl Elsener realized that Germany was making the knives for the Swiss army. The term "Swiss Army knife" was coined by US soldiers after World War II, since they couldn't pronounce its original name, "Offiziersmesser"

In 2006, Victorinox produced a knife with 85 devices and 110 functions, to commemorate the 100th anniversary. The Giant is 8.5 inches wide and retails for $1200!

Cool shot, but I think it would have been better with a bit more DOF. Just enough so that the top and bottom of the shield is sharp.
