I generally don't like to do much if any cropping to my photos in post processing. I prefer to compose the image in the viewfinder as much as possible. Sometimes I may decide to crop because I feel the image works better with a different aspect ratio; a square perhaps.
In the case of this photo of Tara (who could burst at any moment) & Kyle (who is ready for the hormone roller coaster to re-enter the station), I like the full image, but I also liked the lines in this alternative crop. Sorry guys, off with your heads!.

The cropped version is better. This is a good example of "Less is More" in a photo narrative.
