Shoulda saved yesterday's shot for today, since it was of MLK Jr. Parkway and today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The holiday is to celebrate the birthday of Mr. King, which is actually on the 15th. Banks & the government hafta get their extra 3-day weekends somehow.
The campaign for a federal holiday in King's honor began soon after his 1968 assassination. Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed in 1986. At first, some states resisted observing the holiday as such, giving it alternative names or combining it with other holidays. It was officially observed in all 50 states for the first time in 2000.

I know it's challenging planning a day ahead but who can blame you?
