Was the big awards night for the Iowa State Fair Photo Salon last night, where it was finally time to find out the judging results. The competition is quite stiff, so even getting just a single photo displayed is an honor.
1,229 photographers submitted a total of 3,601 photos. After 12 rounds of judging, 806 were selected for display.
The first award I received was a certificate for being one of just fourteen people who got all four of their allotted photo submissions displayed.
I managed to pull off "Best of Color" (second to Best of Show) for my Downtown Abandonment photo.
I also took first place in the Iowa Architecture category for the Golden Curves
Here's the other two photos that didn't ribbon, but are still on display throughout the fair.
Be sure to stop by the Cultural Center if you're at the fair, opening tomorrow! There are some amazing photos on display!
