If only you knew the story of why we have this light fixture.
If you're nice, maybe I'll tell you later.
[Update]
OK, not sure if anybody has actually bee nice or not, but here's the lame story.
Ever since moving into our house, Ami always hated the light fixture handing in our kitchen. It was a similar style to this unit, but made from brass, tacky wood and very dated.
A year or so ago, a couple of the bulbs burnt out. Ami doesn't generally get to do anything handy around the house, bit I figured she could handle changing a couple bulbs. Just unscrew em from the top, how hard could it be?
How wrong could I be.
Ami yells for help saying she can't get the spent bulbs out. I enter the room & see her standing on a chair next to the light, when all of a sudden, the entire fixture rips out of the ceiling, crashing down onto our kitchen table! Glass & kitty fur flying everywhere.
Ami couldn't stop laughing (not the reaction I expected). I'm pretty sure she sabotaged the unit since I'd resisted her nagging to buy a new fixture for several years (probably had Maui using it as a trapeze). Needless to day, that was the only light in our kitchen, so she finally got her way that night. Installed into a joist, not just sheetrock this time.

I wouldn't call it 'nagging'!!! Even Brad said how ugly the old fixture was!!
