After being out of commission for delayed repairs since 2004, we were finally able to return to the Oleson Park band shell for the Summer Karl King Municipal Band concerts last evening as the shell was re-dedicated for the fourth time. Not sure how nearly a million dollars was spent on this incomplete restoration, but it was great to be back playing in the shell again.

Certainly dreading going back to work today after my week long, too-short vacation. Hafta be there at 8am now due to the new super-retarded "everybody has to work 8-5, absolutely no exceptions, unless you have a kid, then you can still work your flexible hours because we can descriminate based on parental status" rule. I guess since it's not descriminating against race, religion or gender, it's alright. Hurray for tact! Flexible hours have never been a problem in the 5+ years I've been there, why is it such a problem now?
In a corporate world that as a whole is getting more flexible, my company is turning into the military. Time to piss off some more people to make them quit. Should help them with the apparent problem of our department being overpaid.
