Flood waters crested downtown late yesterday afternoon and have begun to recede slightly. The "500 year flood plain" was evacuated, but water didn't crest quite as high as predicted due to a malfunctioning water level gauge at one of the locations. Doh! Good news for those in the area, fo sho.
Some locations still broke the records set in '93, while others came within inches. Maybe this is the end? Maybe this is just the beginning? All depends on whether the rain actually holds off, I suppose.
